ROBERT M. BEDFORD PIANO SCHOLARSHIP
Professor Robert Bedford, who began teaching piano in the Fall of 1966, will soon celebrate his 50th year of service to West Chester University of Music.
In celebration of this milestone of 50 years in collegiate music education, Dr. Bedford and his wife, Sharon, have made the lead gift to create the Dr. Robert M. Bedford Piano Scholarship. This fund will provide an annual award to a gifted and accomplished student entering WCU Freshman or graduate Piano Major.
In 1990 Dr. Bedford pursued another exciting credential by setting out to train in the F.M. Alexander Technique. Dr. Bedford became a certified practitioner of the Alexander Technique in 1993. This certification made him one of only three professors of piano world-wide to be so certified.
